Players are asked to arrive at the club house 30 minutes prior to commencement time so that payment, cards, game preparation, trial ends, etc. may be completed allowing play to start at the specified time.
In the event of an incorrect draw, or chart, a protest must be made before the start of a game. If the game is played without protest the result will stand.
Games will be played under the current World Bowls Laws, Bowls New Zealand Domestic Regulations as applicable. Where relevant Bowls North Harbour conditions of play may also be utilised.
The preferred format will be 3 qualifying rounds with 2 and 3 winners advancing to post section. Where there are more than 16 teams/players, or fewer than 7 teams/players the match committee may change the format. This could include, section winners, a round robin or any other playing format that the match committee deems suitable.
Post section fields will be decided by a blind draw.
If there is a change of format, skips or singles players will be notified of any change once it is decided.
Play will normally be 3 rounds per day commencing at 9am, but where a fourth round is required commencement time will be 8:30am.
Midweek as well as weekend qualifying rounds may be required depending on entry numbers. Where this is the case priority for weekend places will be given to working members.
All club championship winners go on to Bowls North Harbour Champion of Champion events (except Mixed Triples, 1-5 Year Mens and Womens Pairs, 1 & 2 Year Singles and 1-5 Year AC Fours). All those players entering a club championship event, must be mindful that they should win the club event they should be available to represent the club at the Bowls North Harbour Champion of Champion event.
Singles:
21 shots, no time limit, 4 bowls per player – only visit the head after the third bowl.
As there is no time limit, to keep things moving, players may be asked to play when a rink and marker are available.
During post section, eliminated players must make themselves available to mark the following round.
2x4x2 Mixed Pairs:
14 ends or 2 hours 15 minutes, 4 bowls per player.
No time limit for the final.
Men’s & Women’s Pairs:
18 ends or 2 hours 15 minutes, 3 bowls per player.
No time limit for the final.
Men’s, Women’s & Mixed Triples:
18 ends or 2 hours 15 minutes, 2 bowls per player.
No time limit for the final.
Men’s & Women’s Fours:
15 ends or 2 hours 15 minutes.
No time limit for the final.
NB: Junior Fours is any combination and club selected.
Conditions for Round Robin system-
Determining a winner - 3 Match Points for a win, 1 Match Point for a Draw (tie).
The winner is the team with the most Match Points.
If Match Points are equal, the winner is the team with the best differential.
If the Match Points and differential are equal, the winner is the team with lowest shots conceded.
If the teams can still not be seperated, the winner is the team that won the game played between the two teams.
If that game was a draw (tie), there will be a 5 end playoff with an extra end if necessary.
Reserve days will be specified in the programme and players must be mindful of those days.

Veteran Pairs
16 ends or 2 hours 15 minutes, 3 bowls per player.
4 qualifying games, maximum of 2 games per day, 3 and 4 winners advance to post section.
No time limit for post section.
An extra end may be required to be played if there is a draw.
Consistency Singles
4 bowls per player, no time limit, maximum of 3 rounds per day.
The player with the higher handicap gets a start of 3 times the handicap difference between the players. This difference will be written on the card and the score board.
The winner of each game is the player who scores 101 or more. If both players reach 101 or more on the same end, the winner is the player with the highest total score. In the event of a draw (tie) an extraend will be played. The closest shot is awarded 4 points, the second 3 points, the third 2 points, the fourth 1 point. Therefore 10 points are scored on every end. If a players kills the end they lose 10 points and the next end commences.
In this event there are no markers. At the completion of each end and before changing ends the players agree who the think holds shot and that player places the jack for the next end.
Handicap Pairs
16 ends or 2 hours 15 minutes, 3 bowls per player, maximum of 3 games per day.
No time limit for the final.
The team with the highest combined handicap starts with the difference between them and their opponents combined handicap.
An extra end may be required to be played if there is a draw (tie).
Graded Fours
15 ends or 2 hours 15 minutes, 2 bowls per player, maximum of 3 games per day.
No time limit for the final.
An extra end may be required to be played if there is a draw.
Graded fours is a single entry event where the Match Committee will place players in teams of equal ability.
If entries are insufficient for a fours competition, the Match Committee have the right to change the format to 2 bowl triples.
