Players are asked to arrive at the club house 30 minutes prior to commencement time so that payment, cards, game preparation, trial ends, etc. may be completed allowing play to start at the specified time.
In the event of an incorrect draw, or chart, a protest must be made before the start of a game. If the game is played without protest the result will stand.
Games will be played under the current World Bowls Laws, Bowls New Zealand Domestic Regulations as applicable. Where relevant Bowls North Harbour conditions of play may also be utilised.
The preferred format will be 3 qualifying rounds with 2 and 3 winners advancing to post section. Where there are more than 16 teams/players, or fewer than 7 teams/players the match committee may change the format. This could include, section winners, a round robin or any other playing format that the match committee deems suitable.
Post section fields will be decided by a blind draw.
Skips or singles players will be notified of any change once it is decided.
Play will normally be 3 rounds per day commencing at 9am, but where a fourth round is required commencement time will be 8:30am.
Midweek as well as weekend qualifying rounds may be required depending on entry numbers. Where this is the case priority for weekend places will be given to working members.
Where an extra round is needed to reduce the number of qualifiers to 8 for quarter finals, preference for any byes will be given to qualifiers with 3 wins. An unplayed third round will not be counted as a win.
All club championship events go on to Bowls North Harbour Champion of Champion events (except for Mixed Triples) so all entrants, where possible, must be mindful that they must be available to represent the club. This is especially important for Singles players who cannot be substituted.
Singles:
21 shots or 2 hours 15 minutes, 4 bowls per player – only visit the head after the third bowl.
No time limit for the final.
During post section, eliminated players must make themselves available to mark the following round.
2x4x2 Mixed Pairs:
14 ends or 2 hours 15 minutes.
No time limit for the final.
Men’s & Women’s Pairs:
18 ends or 2 hours 15 minutes, 3 bowls per player.
No time limit for the final.
Men’s, Women’s & Mixed Triples:
18 ends or 2 hours 15 minutes, 2 bowls per player.
No time limit for the final.
Men’s & Women’s Fours:
15 ends or 2 hours 15 minutes.
No time limit for the final.
NB: Junior Fours is any combination.
Conditions for Round Robin system-
· In round robin play a draw counts as half a win.
· At the completion of the round robin the team or player with the most wins will be declared the winner.
· If 2 teams or players have the same number of wins they shall play a game to determine the winner of the competition.
· If 3 teams or players have the same number of wins the finalists will be determined by points differential over the whole round robin.
Reserve days will be specified in the programme and players must be available if those days are needed.

21 shots, 4 bowls per player. Maximum of 2 games per day.
Veteran Pairs
16 ends, 3 bowls per player. Maximum of 2 games per day.
An extra end may be required to be played if there is a draw.
Consistency Singles
Four bowls per player. Maximum of 3 rounds per day.
The player with the higher handicap gets a start of 3 times the handicap difference between the players. This difference will normally be written on the card by the Match Committee.
The winner of each game is the player who on the completion of and end has the most points of 101 or more. In scoring – the closest shot one each end is awarded 4 points, the second 3 points, the third 2 points, the fourth 1 point. Therefore 10 points are scored on every end. If a players kills the end they immediately lose 10 points.
In this event there are no markers. At the completion of each end and before changing ends the players agree who the think holds shot and that player places the jack for the next end.
Handicap Pairs
16 ends, 3 bowls per player. Maximum of 3 games per day.
An extra end may be required to be played if there is a draw.
Graded Fours
15 ends or 2 hours 15 minutes. 2 bowls per player. Maximum of 3 games per day.
No time limit for the final.
An extra end may be required to be played if there is a draw.
Graded fours is a single entry event where the Match Committee will place players in teams of roughly equal ability. A team consists of a graded lead, a graded two, a graded three, and a graded skip. However, the players entering will most likely not be evenly spread through these different gradings. The Match Committee have the licence and flexibility to take a common sense, practical approach when making up teams. In situations where a substitute or replacement player becomes necessary, the Match committee will be mindful of Domestic Regulation 7.3.
If entries are insufficient for a fours competition, the Match Committee have the right to change the format to 2 bowl triples.
